WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
A Mission-driven nonprofit strengthening the venture capital ecosystem is seeking a Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications to lead its content, campaigns, storytelling, and day-to-day communications across audiences.
This role will own the organization's marketing and communications calendar, including newsletters, email campaigns, social media, website content, program promotion, event communications, and impact storytelling. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, organized marketer, and thoughtful communicator who can translate the organization's mission, programs, and community impact into clear, compelling content.
This is a highly cross-functional role that works closely with Programs, Community & Engagement, Data & Operations, and the Executive Director to ensure the organization shows up with a consistent voice, polished materials, and timely communications across the venture ecosystem.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Own and manage the marketing and communications calendar across programs, events, fundraising moments, newsletters, and external announcements
Develop and execute campaigns for flagship courses, bootcamps, office hours, masterclasses, and other initiatives
Draft and edit emails, newsletters, social posts, website copy, event descriptions, program blurbs, and donor updates
Build content calendars that balance program promotion, impact storytelling, community updates, and thought leadership
Strengthen the organization's voice, messaging, and brand consistency across channels
Translate program outcomes, participant stories, volunteer engagement, and donor support into compelling narratives
Develop reusable messaging, boilerplate language, templates, and talking points for key audiences
Partner with the Executive Director on external communications, op-eds, remarks, and presentations
Own newsletter strategy, production, segmentation, testing, and performance tracking
Manage program and event email campaigns, including audience targeting, copywriting, scheduling, and analysis
Own social media planning and execution, with a focus on LinkedIn and other relevant channels
Keep website content accurate, current, and aligned with campaigns and calls to action
Track engagement metrics including open rates, click rates, social engagement, web traffic, and registrations
Partner cross-functionally with Programs, Community & Engagement, and Data & Operations on storytelling and results
Support fundraising and partnership efforts with sponsor-facing language, donor updates, and campaign assets
WHAT YOU BRING
5+ years of relevant professional experience
Experience in marketing, communications, content strategy, nonprofit communications, venture capital, startups, professional services, education, or related fields
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Strong portfolio of writing samples across formats and audiences
Proven experience building and executing marketing campaigns and content calendars
Experience managing newsletters, email campaigns, social media, websites, and/or content calendars
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines and channels
Strong judgment about tone, audience, messaging, and brand consistency
Detail-oriented, responsive, and highly organized
Data-informed mindset, with interest in improving communications performance over time
Collaborative and comfortable working across a small, mission-driven team
NICE TO HAVE
Experience supporting campaigns, events, programs, fundraising, or stakeholder engagement
Familiarity with tools such as Mailchimp, Salesforce, WordPress or other CMS platforms, Canva, LinkedIn, event platforms, or analytics tools
Familiarity with venture capital or a strong interest in the VC ecosystem
