WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
A Mission-driven nonprofit strengthening the venture capital ecosystem is seeking a Senior Manager, Community & Engagement to strengthen how it engages, supports, and convenes its growing community of emerging fund managers, investors, mentors, speakers, alumni, LPs, sponsors, donors, and ecosystem partners.
This role will own community engagement, stakeholder experience, and event execution across the organization's programs and convenings. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, relationship-driven operator who enjoys creating thoughtful experiences, managing details, building repeatable systems, and ensuring community members feel informed, valued, and connected to the mission.
This is a highly cross-functional role that works closely with Programs, Marketing & Communications, Data & Operations, and the Executive Director to deliver strong stakeholder experiences across the venture ecosystem.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Serve as a key relationship and experience manager for community members, including participants, alumni, volunteers, mentors, speakers, LPs, GPs, sponsors, donors, and partners
Manage engagement workflows, follow-ups, and stakeholder touchpoints before, during, and after programs and events
Ensure community members receive timely, thoughtful, and polished communication
Identify opportunities to deepen alumni, volunteer, mentor, sponsor, and partner engagement
Plan and execute high-quality in-person and virtual convenings, including office hours, leadership dinners, receptions, roundtables, partner events, and sponsor activations
Manage event timelines, invitations, RSVPs, run-of-show documents, vendors, venues, AV, materials, and on-site execution
Coordinate speakers, mentors, sponsors, partners, and other external stakeholders
Partner with Programs and Marketing & Communications on event promotion, audience targeting, participant experience, and post-event storytelling
Collect feedback and identify improvements for future events and convenings
Create and maintain event playbooks, templates, checklists, timelines, and communication workflows
Improve how the organization tracks stakeholder engagement, event participation, and relationship history
Support sponsor fulfillment and partner touchpoints connected to events and community engagement
WHAT YOU BRING
3+ years of relevant professional experience
Experience in community engagement, events, programs, stakeholder engagement, partnerships, nonprofit operations, venture capital, startups, professional services, or related fields
Demonstrated experience planning and executing high-quality events or convenings
Experience managing external stakeholders, speakers, partners, sponsors, donors, or community members
Strong project management skills and comfort managing multiple timelines and stakeholders
Excellent event planning and logistics management skills
High emotional intelligence and confidence interacting with senior external stakeholders
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly detail-oriented, responsive, and reliable
Relationship-oriented, with genuine interest in building community
Strong judgment and ability to anticipate needs, risks, and stakeholder expectations
Comfortable working independently in a small, fast-moving, mission-driven organization
NICE TO HAVE
Experience creating systems, templates, playbooks, or repeatable workflows
Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, Mailchimp, Luma, Zoom, Canva, and project management tools
Familiarity with venture capital or a strong interest in the VC ecosystem
